For today’s AutoHunter Spotlight, Journal collector car market analyst Andy Reid shares his thoughts and the story behind this 2011 Inaugural Edition Dodge Challenger SRT8 up for auction
Sold as number 774 of only 1,100 produced for the U.S., this 2011 Challenger was one of the fastest and powerful Challenger Chrysler built at the time. Powered by a 6.4-liter 392cid V8 and paired with a 6-speed manual, it’s factory-rated at 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
The Challenger Inaugural Edition was only available in white or blue and this example is finished in Bright White Clear Coat with dual blue racing stripes on the hood and trunk lid.
You’ll also find a front splitter, decklid spoiler, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps, a functional hood scoop, dual rear exhaust and limited-edition badges on the exterior.
The interior is trimmed in white leather with edition-specific blue accents. Other special features include an Inaugural Edition dash plaque, Kick speakers and 200-watt amplifier.
The odometer shows 5,935 actual miles, 4,300 of those added by the seller.
The Challenger’s auction ends April 5 at 11:30 p.m. PDT.
