1963 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk on AutoHunter

AutoHunter, the premier online auction platform driven by ClassicCars.com, has a 1963 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk up for bidding.

Only 4,634 two-door Gran Turismo sport coupes were produced for the year, and the one listed on AutoHunter is finished in Ermine White and is powered by a 289cid V8 paired to a Flight-O-Matic automatic transmission.

On the ’63 models, Studebaker made a few stylistic changes to the body that include new round parking lights below the headlights, closed-end grille with a square pattern, and red, white and blue GT badges on the doors. This ’63 coupe also features chrome shoulder trim, side mirrors and bumpers.

The Hawk’s interior is finished in black vinyl with red piping and vertical pleats with matching embroidered floor mats. It’s also equipped with chrome door pulls and window cranks, a center console between the front bucket seats and pull-down armrests.

The 289cid V8 engine was rebuilt in the 1970s, and it’s unknown if it is the original powerplant. Recent work on the engine includes new belts, thermostat and hoses, fuel sending unit and installation of a heavy-duty water pump.

The odometer shows 50,000 miles, but the seller states and records support that the dial has rolled over.

The auction for this 1963 Studebaker GT Hawk ends March 1 at 11:30 a.m. MST.
