Buyers of 25 Defender Works V8 Trophy vehicles being produced by Land Rover Classic will be invited to “an exclusive competition” held this year at England’s Eastnor Castle, the automaker revealed in its announcement of the limited run of vehicles designed to celebrate the Defender’s expedition legacy.
The two dozen plus one vehicles are available in 90 and 110 Station Wagon body designs and are based on re-engineered 2012-2016 Defender Works V8 platforms. They are equipped with 405-horsepower V8 engines, 8-speed ZF automatic transmissions, and uprated suspension, steering and braking systems designed for off-pavement use, as well as a front winch, multi-point expedition cage, roof rack, underbody protection, A-bar, raised air intake, spotlights and mud-terrain tires.
The vehicles will wear special Eastnor Yellow colors with matching 16-inch steel wheels. Hood, rear door and wheel arches will be done in Narvik Black. A “Heritage” front grille gets modern LED headlights.
The interiors feature Recaro sport seats in black Windsor leather upholstery with contrasting yellow stitching, a special Land Rover Trophy clock by Elliot Brown.
Inside, the instantly recognizable 4×4 benefits from full black Windsor leather upholstery with Recaro sports seats, contrast yellow stitching and a bespoke clock face by Elliot Brown.
The vehicles are available for order from Land Rover Classic by customers in the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Oceania. Base price for the 90 is £195,000 ($263,000).
Later this year, Classic says it will invite buyers to a 3-day adventure at Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire, “spiritual home of Land Rover all-terrain training, testing and development,” where vehicles will be delivered to their new owners.
