Italian elegance from two worlds collide in a breathtaking collaboration between Ducati and Lamborghini resulting in the Ducati Diavel 1260 Lamborghini, a motorcycle that celebrates the cooperation between the two companies. The bike is a creative display of sportiness, Italian design, and the connection never lost between motorcycle and automobile.
Inspired by the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 and based on the Ducati Diavel 1260 S, the focus of the project was to redesign components from the Sián FKP 37 to transfer to the motorcycle world.
For example, the lightweight forged wheels reflect the design of those on the car, while the air intakes and radiator covers made of carbon fibre show more of a cross between automobile and motorcycle by keeping the design comfortably conformed to the main frame of the bike.
“The Ducati Diavel inspired by the Lamborghini Sián celebrates our shared values: we are both Italian, we are inherently sporty and our design always distinguishes our creations,” said Andrea Ferraresi, director of Ducati Centro Stile. “The Diavel 1260 Lamborghini has been created by using the same design language that distinguishes the Sián FKP 37.”
Also redesigned by Centro Stile Ducati, the muffle cover, spoiler, central tank cover, seat cover, front and rear mudguards, dashboard cover and headlight frame are made of carbon fiber, giving the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini an aggressive sporty demeanor.
“We are convinced that our design is strong and one of the most recognizable in the automotive sector,” said Mitja Borkert, head of design at Automobili Lamborghini. “The unique silhouette, clean but extremely distinguished, defines the base of our design language.
“Our visionary design approach allows us to transfer our DNA to other products: this was achieved through strong teamwork, sharing our style and the advantage of being two brands inspired by the same values and a commitment to ‘fun to drive’.”
A collaboration between Centro Stile Ducati and Centro Stile Lamborghini, the paints applies to the bike are the same as those used for the Sián FKP 37. Verde Gea is the color code for all but the frame, undertray and forged rims, which are embellished in the Oro Electrum color.
The motorcycle will be produced by Ducati in a limited and numbered edition of 630 units, which is 10 times 63, which is the number included in the livery design celebrating 1963, the year the Sant’Agata Bolognese company was founded.
