Did you know there’s an American arm of Italy’s 1000 Miglia, the Mille Miglia USA? It will be hosted for the second year by Creighton Farms in Aldie, Virginia, just west of Washington, D.C.
In light of the coronavirus pandemic and its resulting restrictions, the theme for the US gathering November 7 at Creighton Farms is “Then & Now,” and will feature entrants’ vintage sports cars as well as their current counterparts.
In addition, there will be a display of “eclectic electric,” which are vintage vehicles converted to electric powertrains.
A “Cars & Cappuccino” event at Creighton Farms is scheduled from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. November 7, with the Mille Miglia USA cars leaving for a road tour.

Scottsdale Motorsports Gathering resumes
Scuderia Southwest, which each winter stages the Concours in the Hills in the Phoenix area, resumes its monthly Scottsdale Motorsports Gatherings from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on November 7, but at a new location, Market Street at DC Ranch. Cars will be parked in three separate areas, which are connected by walkways.

AACA special show at Gettysburg
The AACA, which had to cancel its big Fall Meet at Hershey because of the coronavirus pandemic, gathers instead at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, November 6-7 for its Special Fall Nationals car show. The events, with social distancing and other health precautions, will be held at the Wyndham Hotel complex. Visit the event website for details.

Drive Toward a Cure honors Phil Hill
The Drive Toward a Cure, launched to give car enthusiasts a series of events that also raise money for the battle against Parkinson’s Disease, has announced a special Phil Hill Challenge Match that will provide a dollar-for-dollar match up to $50,000. The program runs through the end of this year.
Hill, America’s first Formula One world champion, was challenged by Parkinson’s in his later years.
“Several other renowned racers including David Love and Sam Posey have also faced the challenges of Parkinson’s Disease,” said Deb Pollack, Drive Toward a Cure founder. “Heroes like Phil Hill are an inspiration to many, and our organization seeks to take advantage of the emotional bonds we share with car enthusiasts to elevate the funding we can provide to those with similar disadvantages.”

New venue for Carlisle Auto Mania
Carlisle Events’ annual Auto Mania event moves from Allentown to the Carlisle Expo Center January 15-17, 2021, but is scheduled to return to the Allentown Fairgrounds, its home since 1990, in 2022.
The event is staged so collectors can “stock up on supplies for winter car projects” and to get their vehicles ready for the 2021 car show season.
