Reacting to the continuously changing coronavirus pandemic, Mecum Auctions has rescheduled its live Dallas collector car auction for 2020, moving it back a month to October 15-17 from its original date of September 9-12.
“To ensure the auction will take place, Mecum has collaborated with local authorities and venue partners at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas to confirm new auction dates for the Dallas 2020 auction in October,” the auction company said in a news release. “The new dates for the Dallas auction are now October 15-17, and the live auction will proceed as planned.
“All current consignment positions and bidder registrations will remain active and in place.”
As well as making the Dallas date change, Mecum this week added another in-person auction to its 2020 schedule, set for October 29-31 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Other live auctions scheduled for this year by Mecum are at Kissimmee, Florida; Louisville; Chicago; Las Vegas; and Houston.
Each of the auctions will be held with COVID-19 restrictions in place, including hand-sanitizing stations, required face-masks for participants and staff, and social distancing measures, Mecum said. While the auctions will be held live, there will also be enhanced online and phone bidding.
