Dramatic racing from the early 1930s at Indianapolis and famed European courses is seen in archival footage covering both American and European grand prix competition.

The compilation of vintage footage, presented by the Petersen Automotive Museum, focuses on 1934 when advanced Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union racers, backed heavily by the Nazi government, challenged leader Alfa Romeo of Italy with 300-horsepower engines.
