Before you get put off by the 24-inch wheels beneath the Pick of the Day, note that the car “is completely stock” and that the original OEM wheels and tires come with the car so it can be returned to the way it looked when it came off the assembly line.
The car is a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic convertible and is personally owned by its seller, the owner of Gse Customs of Miami Lakes, Florida.
Gse Customs is the shop that built entertainer Rick Ross’ famous $500,000 1973 “Cherry Bomb” Caprice Classic with an LS1 engine, Air Ride suspension, Baer brakes, 4L65E push-button transmission, Porsche red-leather interior and 15-inch Kicker subwoofers. Oh, and Ross’s car ride on 26-inch Gse Customs Thruster wheels.
The Gse owner’s car, for which he is asking a mere $50,000, is fitted with gleaming 24-inch wire rims and the slivers of very low-profile tires.
“Although there was a high production # for this year and color, this particular vehicle is very rare,” says the seller, who is advertising the Chevy on ClassicCars.com. “Notice the twin Caprice badges above the front grill, the 400 badge on fenders and the dual chrome remote mirrors. It’s a fully optioned model.
“The car is completely stock,” the advertisement continues. “I have completely redone the engine, transmission, brakes, cooling system, starter, alternator and ac system. The vehicle needs nothing! Runs and drives perfect.”
The car was overhauled at 97,000 miles and has been driven only 2,000 miles since, according to the ad.
“Options included are power windows, locks, seats, top, trunk, tilt wheel, cruise control, remote chrome mirrors, convertible boot, econo gauge.
“Vehicle has only run on ethanol free gas sold at raceway or race track which is compatible with older fuel systems so it won’t deteriorate the carb and hoses.
And what of those huge wheels?
“The rims are 24” Daytons with Gse customs tires.”
And if you don’t like that stance, the originals have been retained and can be bolted back onto the car.

Seriously?? This is nothing but an old Chevy with “hip hop” wheels. Nothing classic about it. You work hard to make these “old cars” seem unique. I am disappointed with the number of “classic cars” that have shown up lately on your daily dose.
The rims take away from…the total classy look of this vintage classic Chevy! Yeah, that makes a lot of sense?

I’m enjoying the diversity of rides on these pages, I can’t quite get to the 50k this seller is asking for the Caprice but it is very good to incorporate a variety of cars. Wouldn’t you say Luke?

People are all different and that’s the beauty of it, because obviously if we all liked what Jack likes, this would probably without a doubt be a boring world. But that’s not the case, so we are free to do as we choose and be as cool as we wanna be….and that’s cool✌🏿
I agree with Jack. It is a good lookin’ car but it is not a classic in my book. A 1963 Chevy Impala with a 409 would be closer to a classic and you can buy those for way less than 50 grand.
