Worldwide Auctioneers 17th annual Texas Classic Auction posted a 93 percent sell-through rate and $4.3 million in sales recently at the Arlington Convention Center.
Topping the results was a 1965 Shelby GT350 Ford Mustang, one of 562 produced, that hammered sold for $363,000. A 1959 Porsche 356A/1600 S convertible D sold for $209,000.
The auction featured the 78-vehicle collection of Pamela & Eugene Knies. Among the cars from that large group, a 2002 BMW Z8 driven only 4,232 miles sold for $200,000 and a low-mileage 2010 Rolls-Royce Drophead Phantom Coupe brought $225,000. A 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha, one of 729 produced, and this one driven only 3,825 miles, sold for $184,800.
Also from the same collection, a 1980 AMC Pacer DL sold for an impressive $28,600.

Worldwide’s next sale is scheduled for August 4 in Shipshewana, Indiana, where it will handle the distribution of the acclaimed Hostetler’s Hudson Auto Museum Collection of Hudson, Essex, Terraplane, Railton and Dover cars and trucks.
