Miles of vintage and classic cars are expected at one of the largest annual classic car events in California as people from across the country flock to Redding, two hours north of Sacramento, for the 27th annual Kool April Nights, set this year for April 16-24.
“Kool April Nights is a huge celebration that offers something for every member of the family, especially those who are interested in vintage and classic cars,” said Kallie Markle, communications coordinator for the Redding Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Every year, this 5,000-plus-person party launches Redding into spring with a huge bang.”
The nine-day event includes concerts, food, dances, and a city-wide Friday Nite Cruise with nearly every parking lot in the city turned into a “show and shine” location.
The cruise is free to all spectators and the sidewalks start filling early in the day as thousands of people bring lawn chairs to stake a good vantage for watching the cruise roll past.
